UCLA Technology Development Group (TDG) serves as a campus-wide gateway to innovation, research, and entrepreneurship. UCLA was recognized recently in the Milken Institute’s 2017 report “Concept to Commercialization – The Best Universities for Technology Transfer” as the nation’s No. 1 ranked academic institution for the number of startups formed to commercialize campus discoveries. During fiscal year 2016, collaborations between UCLA and industry have led to 114 licensed inventions, 21 startups, 241 industry sponsored research agreements, and hundreds of new discoveries including therapeutics, diagnostics and devices. UCLA TDG seeks to forge new relationships with industry partners to: 1) license UCLA technology; 2) create multidisciplinary research collaborations; and 3) form and launch startups to help solve the world’s leading health challenges.
